IEEE Communication Society has developed a strategic framework based on the principles that embrace Industry’s interests and objectives while integrating objectives and priorities of IEEE and Communication Society. In order to engage industry members with high value and innovative technology, IEEE Communication Society plans to hold a series of high impact one day Summits in emerging technology areas (e.g., SDN/NFV, 5G, IoT, and Cybersecurity). The IEEE 5G and IoT Thessaloniki Summit 2018 is part of a successful series of 5G Summits that have been held since 2015 in America, Asia and Europe, and will contribute to continuous provision of a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment. The event will be held at the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, Greece on Thursday, October 25, 2018. The IEEE 5G and IoT Thessaloniki Summit 2018 is collocated with the Global Information Infrastructure and Networking Symposium (GIIS 2018) and the Training School on "Emerging Technologies for 5G and Internet of Things" . Since we organize the event in Thessaloniki for the second time, we hope to repeat last year’s success (http://www.5gsummit.org/greece). The programme is composed of a rich blend of speakers from industry, academia, research labs, standardization and regulation bodies, covering different main topics:
5G and Internet of Things - Regulatory and Commercial Considerations
The Race to 5G
Testbeds, Trials and Deployment for 5G
What's Next on 5G and IoT
