Recently, IEEE Communication Society has developed a strategic framework based on the principles that embrace Industry's interests and priorities while integrating IEEE and ComSoc's objectives. In order to engage industry members with high value and innovative technologies, IEEE Communication Society plans to hold a series of high impact one day Summits in emerging technology areas (e.g., SDN/NFV, 5G, IoT, Big Data, and Cybersecurity). IEEE Communications Society recently held more than 50 5G Summits around the world since May 2015. The First IEEE 5G Princeton Summit was held at Princeton University on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. It was the first one in the series. Princeton 5G summit was followed by Toronto 5G Summit on November 14, 2015 and Silicon Valley 5G Summit on November 16, 2015. These one day summits will provide a platform for the industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment. The San Diego single-day workshop is being co-sponsored by IEEE Communications Society and San Diego Section and will provide a unique forum for folks from industry, academia, and user community to be informed about the evolving landscape of 5G technologies, deployment use cases and business models and to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment.
